A GA-Based Simulation System for WMNs: Performance Analysis for Different WMN Architectures Considering Weibull Distribution, HWMP and TCP Protocols

چکیده
In our previous work, we implemented WMN-GA system which is based on Genetic Algorithms (GAs) and used it for node placement problem in WMNs. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of Weibull distribution of mesh clients for two WMN architectures considering PDR, throughput, delay, fairness index and energy metrics. For simulations, we used ns-3, Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol (HWMP) and TCP. We compare the performance of both architectures. The simulation results show that the PDR for both WMN architectures is almost the same. The throughput of I/B WMN is a little bit higher than Hybrid WMN. The delay of Hybrid WMN is lower than I/B WMN. The fairness index and the remaining energy for both WMN architectures are almost the same.

Performance analysis of different architectures and TCP congestion-avoidance algorithms using WMN-GA simulation system
In this paper, we evaluate the performance of two Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) architectures considering throughput, delay, jitter and fairness index metrics. For simulations, we used ns-3, Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) and Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR). We compare the performance of WMN for different Transmission Control Protocol (TCP): Tahoe, Reno and NewReno considering norm...
متن کاملAnalysis of mesh router placement in wireless mesh networks using Friedman test considering different meta-heuristics
In this paper, we deal with connectivity and coverage problem in Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs). We used Friedman test to compare Genetic Algorithm (GA), Tabu Search (TS), Hill Climbing (HC) and Simulated Annealing (SA). We found out that GA, TS, HC and SA have differences in their performance. Then, we used the implemented systems WMN-GA, WMN-TS, WMN-HC and WMN-SA to evaluate and compare the pe...
متن کاملA Security Analysis of the 802.11s Wireless Mesh Network Routing Protocol and Its Secure Routing Protocols
Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) can act as a scalable backbone by connecting separate sensor networks and even by connecting WMNs to a wired network. The Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol (HWMP) is the default routing protocol for the 802.11s WMN. The routing protocol is one of the most important parts of the network, and it requires protection, especially in the wireless environment. The existing se...
متن کاملHPIS: A Scalable Routing Protocol for WMN
Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) have gained much attention because of their capability of providing reliable wireless coverage to large geographical areas with or without infrastructure requirements. Due to their inherent limitations and the increasing number of users demanding high QoS performances, wireless mesh networks have attracted the attention of researchers world-wide to address the scal...
متن کاملNon-root-based Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol for Wireless Mesh Networks
Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) are wireless networks that are composed of mesh routers and mesh clients. Mesh routers have minimal mobility and form the backbone of WMNs. IEEE 802.11s-based WMNs have a default routing protocol, namely, a hybrid wireless mesh protocol (HWMP). In tree-based proactive mode, HWMP is completely centralized and constrained by the root node, which causes a bottleneck a...
